The Best School in Nigeria - The Regent School Achieves "Outstanding" Report in BSO rating by PENTA

We are extremely proud to announce that The Regent School has achieved the prestigious ‘OUTSTANDING’ status in the British Schools Overseas (BSO) DfE inspection, making it the only school in Nigeria to accomplish this remarkable feat. This recognition holds immense significance for our parents, students, staff, and the entire school community.

Out of about thirty-five (35) BSO schools in Africa, there are only five (5) in Nigeria and The Regent School is the only school in Nigeria to have received this outstanding rating.
This achievement places us at the forefront of educational excellence on the continent, setting a benchmark for other schools to aspire to.

Scrutinised by PENTA International, a Department for Education (DfE) BSO inspectorate, the inspection evaluates the quality of education similar to leading independent schools in the UK.

The inspection report reveals that The Regent School has been awarded an outstanding rating across all eight inspection criteria, which include students’ achievement, personal and social development, child protection and safeguarding, quality of education (curriculum, teaching, and assessments), school leadership as well as the quality of facilities and resources.

PENTA International Chief Inspector's comment.

The Chief Inspector, PENTA International, Dr. Mark Evans, said this about the school in his report:

“The Regent Primary School is a friendly and vibrant school that provides a very high standard of education and care. It has made excellent progress since the last BSO inspection. The students attain high academic standards and have loads of fun as they learn. The teachers, too, clearly love being with their classes and there is much laughter to be heard. The students are safe and confident; this allows them to learn fast. The standard of English writing and language is very high. Relationships between the school and parents are strong, and effectively inform school planning and further the welfare of the students.”

While celebrating this momentous achievement, we recognize that the pursuit of excellence is an ongoing and collaborative endeavour. We value the active involvement of our parents, as their feedback is crucial to our continuous improvement. Earlier this year, we launched a school-wide survey to gather direct and honest feedback on our performance. We sincerely appreciate the insights shared by our parent community, which helps guide our decision-making process at the highest level. It enables us to enhance our academic standards, enrich our sports and music programs, and prioritize the safety and well-being of our children.
