At the Regent, sports and academic excellence are our way of life.

SPORTING HOUSES

All students at The Regent Secondary School belong to one of four sporting houses:

  • Benue,
  • Congo,
  • Senegal,
  • Volta.

The presence of day students at a school catering for a large number of boarders gives the opportunities for a wide variety of activities, excursions and events that they may not otherwise get.

The Regent Secondary School is intensifying its efforts to achieve excellence in sports. The school prides itself on high levels of participation and competition success.

We are a member of the Association of International Schools Sports League and have a winning history in swimming, volleyball and football. The school also allows students to try new sports like rounders, rugby and softball.

We teach our students to learn the value of taking care of themselves through healthy eating, exercise knowledge, successful academics, high self-confidence, good sportsmanship and a positive lifestyle. We have a structured Physical Education programme where students learn to unwind and relieve themselves of stress and anxiety allowing them to function more effectively in the classrooms.

The school has the best natural grassed football field to be found anywhere in Nigeria with a multipurpose court which serves volleyball, tennis and basketball. The school will be participating in the prestigious Donosti Cup Tournament in Spain which is held annually in the city of San Sebastian.
