Meet

The Prefects

The Head Girl

Ameena Kere-Ahmed

I have been a student at The Regent School since Year 2, and over the course of my many years at this school, the school community has always been welcoming and friendly to all students. While I was in primary school, I was lucky enough to have the chance to serve as a prefect and now I am privileged to serve as the Head girl of The Regent Secondary School.

Since watching the prefect hustings in year 7, I have wanted to be a prefect. I had planned my entire speech, but nothing could have prepared me for getting up on that stage and presenting in front of the whole school. To be honest, I would have been content with becoming a school prefect but I was taught to aim higher and work harder. So, I put in the hard work and dedication to be chosen as the Head Girl of The Regent School, and when they announced the roles and positions, I was beyond ecstatic.

As the head girl, I have been given a huge responsibility, which I intend to fulfill to the best of my ability, just as I pledged in my oath. I hope to lead this school and be remembered for having a big impact. I hope to leave the school as a safer environment where younger ones feel comfortable interacting and collaborating with seniors as I want to be a leader who interacts with everyone. For the student community, I want it to be a fun place where everyone can get the most out of their Regent experience. I would like for everyone to be familiar and respectful to their peers to reduce bullying to zero percent.

If you are new to the school, I want to say that you are in very safe hands. The memories you will make here will be unforgettable and everyone here is very welcoming. My advice to you is that it may be difficult at first to adjust to the new environment or even to make new friends, but over time, you will make amazing friends who will support you through everything. I know I have made some of my best friends for life here, and I am confident you will as well. If we happen to meet here at school before I graduate, I would love to get to know you; if not, I can assure you that you are in good company.

To finish this off, I just have to say that Regent is an amazing school, and I will forever be grateful that I was able to attend such a school.
